All we've included here are local restaurants that are a short walk or a one-two minute drive.  If you have any suggestions, please email any information about it (type, specialties, best time to go, etc.)   My suggestion is....

Here are some suggestions:

A favourite for many is Asiana Sushi on Terminal Ave. in the Brussels Chocolate building.  (#100 - 750 Terminal Ave.)  David and Lisa are great hosts and have a great all you can eat for $12.95.

Another is the Allegro Cafe on Nelson between Howe and Hornby.  A Mediterranean cuisine, it's got 5 Star food and service for 3 Star prices.  You won't be disappointed!  1G-888 Nelson St. 604.683.8485.  Does get noisy after 9 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

A new suggestion from the August 2002 Bon Appetit reviewed several Vancouver eating establishments including local Phnnom Penh (244 E. Georgia St. 604-682-5777).

Bon Appetit said:

In Vancouver’s old charming Chinatown, the cooking at Phnnom Penh straddles the borders of Vietnam and Cambodia, rounded with a colonial French patois. The proprietors – the Huynh family – are as sweet as their food. Originally from Cambodia, the Huynhs sought refuge in Vietnam for four years before immigrating to Canada in 1979. “Now our customers look just like the city,” says Helen Huynh. “We have Vietnamese, Cambodian, Indonesian, Caucasian and Chinese people who like to dine at our restaurant.”
In a city with a thousand takes on hot-and-sour, Phnnom Penh serves a profound version, thick with sprouts and prawns and top-noted with tamarind and chilies. Baby squid, cross-hatched and deep fried in a dusting of rice flour, are finished with garlic, chilies, scallions and ginger. Golden and moist, they give up the barest crunch at the surface and guarantee that diners will never have to settle for wedding ring calamari ever again.

Try #47 on the menu.. Hot and sour with chicken. The most popular.. Small $8.75 and large $17.50. Small is great for 3-4 sharing. The taste is great. The area outside may not be the most appealing but inside the restaurant is clean, bright and service is efficient and friendly. Most enjoyable meals.
